“A Mule Named Sal”: Music of the Erie Canal

Folk music of new york state

It’s spring break in Albany, and that means lots of kids and families will be finding their way to the Albany Institute of History and Art.

This will be an interactive, multi-generational program of songs, stories, and musical instruments from the days of Clinton’s Ditch, performed with banjo, mandolin, guitar, bones, spoons, washboard and more.

Open to all of the day’s museum-goers.
