The October 2018 reunion show at Sportsmen’s Tavern sold out seven weeks ahead of time, so here’s a second event with lots more space.
Never able to shake their high-school-era band name, Williamsville’s Wild Knights quickly became one of the region’s top drawing bands in the 1980’s and early 90’s, packing clubs like Nietzsche’s, The Tralf and The Country Club Skyroom for long evenings of music by The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, The Band and more.
Band members Mike Bellman, Joe Bellanti, Corey Kertzie, Mark Marsack, Dave Ruch and Rolf Witt have stayed active on regional and international stages since then, but performed together only occasionally.
This show will feature three sets of music – – one special acoustic set followed by two electric sets.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 day of show, ages 12+ welcome, under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
“(Their) 165-minute set tickled a wall-to-wall crowd. The wide-open appeal of the Wild Knights was evident from the opening strains of ‘Memphis’ to the final ringing chords of ‘Jessica’ and ‘Blue Sky’” – Jim Santella, The Buffalo News, 1/30/1995
