BUFFALO NY – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2/20/19

Buffalo musician Dave Ruch has curated a new Duo/Trio Sundays performance series at PAUSA art house featuring four groups on four Sunday afternoons in March with some of the region’s best musicians playing together in uncommon formats.

While Ruch’s full-time job involves travelling around the state and beyond giving educational music performances for schools, museums, arts centers and the like, here at home he’s almost an empty-nester now, and that means finding much more time to play music recreationally.

“I’ve connected (and re-connected) with so many great musicians this past year – I wanted an opportunity to play more with them, and put myself in some challenging and fun situations where we can share something unique with the incredibly supportive live music community here in Buffalo. And I got lucky – PAUSA is not usually open on Sundays, but they invited us in!”

The series runs the gamut from acoustic Grateful Dead tunes (with Mike Bellman and Joe Bellanti of Wild Knights, Week 1) to electric rhythm & blues and honky tonk (with Buffalo Music Hall of Famer Jim Whitford and drummer Jim Celeste, Week 2) to folk songs and fiddle tunes (with “Fiddlin’ Phil” Banaszak of the Canal Street String Band on St Patrick’s Day!, Week 3) to a final adventurous unrehearsed “anything goes” event with Brad Robbins and Jim Doersam of local jam titans Queen City Jamboree (Week 4).

Between the four weeks, there will be piano, drums, electric and acoustic guitars, fiddle, banjo, mandolins, spoons, jaw harp, acoustic and electric basses, and lots of singing, but always in small combos.

How to get involved: PAUSA is a small listening-room venue, which makes for a wonderful and intimate experience for audience and performers, but it also means that seating is limited. Those interested in attending have two options for securing seats – reserve online now and pay $10/per person on arrival, or purchase a Series Pass now for $27 with guaranteed seating at all four events (a $40 value). Ruch has also created an opportunity to support these musicians and the series directly with financial donations of any amount accepted on the Series webpage.

How to reserve/purchase/support: Reservations, Series Passes and Financial Support can all be taken care of on the Duo/Trio Sundays webpage (https://daveruch.com/duo-trio-sundays-pausa/)
