“A Mule Named Sal:” Songs of the Erie Canal & NY’s Waterways

“A Mule Named Sal:” Songs of the Erie Canal & NY’s Waterways

Folk music of new york state

The Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village is one of six sites statewide to receive the Smithsonian’s Water/Ways traveling exhibition, and I’m happy to be doing a few water- and canal-related programs in conjunction with the festivities.

This one will be an interactive, family-oriented program of songs, stories, and musical instruments from the days of Clinton’s Ditch, performed with banjo, mandolin, guitar, bones, spoons, washboard and more.

I’ll probably throw in some fun songs from the Great Lakes as well!

Join us for an interactive, musical afternoon.
